Reliance Telecom, a subsidiary of Reliance Communiations, on Friday announced a unique recharge scheme for its prepaid GSM customers who could avail of free ''double on net minutes and built-in talktime'' on top-up vouchers of Rs 10.

''As every customer has a mix of off-net and on-net calling, it practically reduces the cost of mobility by half,'' a company spokesman, quoting Reliance Communications president (personal business) S P Shukla, informed after the launch.

He said Reliance GSM customers, who opted for the unlimited plan of Rs 399, would be given GPRS access for three months without any rental and customers on all other plans could also avail of GPRS for Rs 99 per month for three straight months.

The new offer – 'Dus ka bees' - would benefit millions of Reliance prepaid customers to net 20 on-net minutes free on a Rs 10 top-up
voucher, the spokesman, quoting Shukla, said. Moreover, he said, over 50 per cent cut in data-connectivity fees would allow many postpaid GSM customers to subscribe to data services at affordable rates.

''Customers of Reliance GSM in Bihar could also avail of the new offers with immediate effect, along with the tariff plan of their choice,'' Shukla was quoted to have said.

Besides, Reliance GSM offered feature-rich classic FM radio phones at a price of Rs 1599, Shukla said, adding that to enhance radio listening time for its customers, FM radio colour phones were also being offered with one free extra battery as a back up.
