RIL's Hazira unit bags ASTD award

The Hazira manufacturing division of the Reliance Industries has won the 'ASTD Best Award for 2005 ' from the American Society for Training & Development Award, the company said on Monday.

 "The 2005 ASTD Best Award winners set the standard of excellence for exceptional practices in employee learning and development," ASTD's president and CEO Tony Bingham said.

Reliance said it is the first petrochemicals company from India and Asia to have won this award.

Reliance wins two National Awards

Reliance Industries plants at Jamnagar and Hazira have won the 'National Award for Excellence in Energy Management – 2005' for the year 2004-05 during the Energy Summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry.

The Jamnagar Unit has won the award under the 'Refinery Sector' while the Hazira Unit has won the award in the 'Petrochemicals Sector'.

The Hazira Unit has won this award 5 times in the last 6 years.  The awards were presented at the CII – Godrej Green Business Centre's sixth edition of the National Awards for Excellence in Energy Management.

Thirty-five companies were short-listed based upon their energy conversation performance during the last three years from a total of 126 applications.
