Reliance Industries has announced a new management team for its newly acquired German company Trevira.
The team will be led by Bernd Sassenrath who has been retained as the chief executive officer. The other directors on board are Jurgen Muth, who will look after finance & controls, IT and personnel; Jurgen Idzko, who will be in-charge of production & technology, research & development and environment, health and safety; and Hemant Sharma will take responsibilities for marketing & sales and supply chain management.
RIL has also set up a supervisory board and has appointed Subodh Sapra as chairman. Other members of this board are Gunther Gunzenheimer and Hans-Joachim Becker. This board will supervise the management board, according to a press communique.
Subodh Sapra, president, polyester sector, RIL, and chairman, supervisory board of Trevira, said in a release: "I am confident that the new team under the leadership of Sassenrath, and fully supported by the resources of Reliance, will ensure that Trevira scales new heights. I wish the team every success."
Trevira has a capacity of 130,000 tonnes per annum of polyester fibre and yarn, spread over four locations in Europe namely Bobingen and Guben (Germany), Silkeborg (Denmark) and Quevaucamps (Belgium), and a state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) facility at Bobingen.
With its acquisition by Reliance and its expansions underway in India, the combined total polyester fibre and filament yarn capacity of Reliance will exceed 1.8 million tonnes, making Reliance, the largest polyester fibre and yarns producer in the world.
Reliance recently completed all financial formalities and transfer of ownership and management control of Trevira.
