R Ravimohan, a top official of Reliance Industries Limited, died on Monday night following a cardiac arrest. Ravimohan, 52, is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.
He was a chemical engineer and completed the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School.
After a stint in Crisil as chairman, Ravimohan joined the Mukesh Ambani-led company as executive director in August, RIL spokesperson said.
Ravimohan was closely involved with the modernisation of Indian financial system and pioneered the era of electronic stock markets in the country.
He was involved in critical policy assignments and was a member of the Primary Market Advisory Committee of Securities and Exchange Board of India, Technical Advisory Committee and Financial Stability and Stern Test Assessment of Committee of Reserve Bank of India and Raghuram Rajan Committee on Financial Sector Reforms.
Ravimohan, who was handling the proposed acquisition of global petrochemical major LyondellBasell Industries, was rushed to hospital after he suffered a cardiac arrest while taking a walk outside his office.
