Waitlist e-ticketing for all trains now

May 20, 2008 10:43 IST

Aiming to make e-ticketing facilities more customer-friendly, the railways have introduced the waitlist e-ticketing service from May 10 for all trains.

Earlier, only confirmed tickets were available through this service.

The facility is available on the e-ticketing Web site www.Irctc.co.in of Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Cooperation, a PSU under the ministry of railways.

For refund of the tickets in the waiting list, customers need not apply to IRCTC for cancellation. The tickets will be cancelled online by railways and refunds credited to user or agents accounts automatically, an official release said.

The scheme has got a very good response from the public, it said, adding IRCTC has been booking around 15,000 waitlisted e-tickets per day.
