Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy said on Tuesday he would hold parleys with the Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia on July 14 at Delhi to finalise the plan size of Puducherry for fiscal 2011-2012.
Rangasamy told newsmen in Puducherry he would hold discussions with officials and heads of departments of Puducherry government next week to prepare the plan document.
He said he had already requested the Centre to ensure that Union Territory of Puducherry was sanctioned more grants replacing the loan component in the annual plans.
Already Puducherry owed to the Centre as much as Rs 4040 crore (Rs 40.4 billion) over the years as
loan and interest.
He said he had requested the Centre to write off this amount as it was casting burden on Puducherry.
He said that he would place before the Planning commission the requirements of Puducherry through a document which would be finalised soon.
He said the Budget session of new Assembly will then be held with the inauguration of the session by Lt Governor for presentation of full-fleged Budget.
The previous Assembly session held in February had voted funds for the first six months (April to September) of the current financial year.
"We will have to bring out a full-fledged budget and for that the plan size will be finalised through dialogue with the Planning commission." he said.
