Polaris opens centre in Belfast

Polaris Software Lab Ltd on Thursday said it will set up a banking and financial Application Certification Centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland, assisted by Invest Northern Ireland.

The Belfast centre, would start as a certification centre, providing independent quality assurance software testing and will be also be a software development and business continuity centre, Polaris informed the Bombay Stock Exchange. The third phase would focus on providing round-the-clock technical support in Europe.

After the completion of the third phase, Belfast will be a full-fledged near shore software development centre and Mercury certified, banking and financial application centre.

"The launch of the first of its kind banking and financial application certification centre in Belfast, is the third step in our strategy to take leadership in providing testing solutions, integrating local expertise in domain and technology with Polaris India's Application Certification Expertise.

"Polaris Belfast centre complements our existing software development centres in New Jersey and Singapore," Polaris CEO and chairman Arun Jain said. The agreement was signed by Peter Haln MP, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and Polaris CEO and chairman Arun Jain on April 13.

Polaris provides solutions in the areas of banking, financial services, ERP, retail automation and risk management. The company's shares were trading at Rs 112, up 2.69 per cent at the BSE.
