5 gorgeous hatchbacks that will hit Indian roads in 2015

The hatchback trend is back! Or wait, it never ended at any point. Always admired due to exciting features and affordable budget, the hatchback are the most sold cars in the country.

One major advantage of is that they are easy on pocket and this surely is a big incentive. Consequently, nearly 50 per cent of the population in India relies on them.

They are best suited for the 'real' Indian roads full of potholes and rugged areas. What more can a driver demand from his or her four wheels? Moreover, the performance and mileage it has to offer are lucrative enough.

There are plethora of them offered by several manufacturers and more in the pipeline. Here is a list of 5 upcoming hatchbacks that will soon add to the excitement in this space.

New Honda Jazz Diesel

The New Honda Jazz diesel is expected to soon become a hit in the Indian market. The hatchback hosts a 1.5 litre i-DTEC Earthdream engine, making it one of the most sought after cars in India.

The interiors are spacious for which the Jazz was always known for. Also, the premium features have an added advantage over it.

This Jazz is expected to be sold at a price near to the i20, that is close to Rs 500,000-600,000. Launch is expected by early 2015.

Tata Bolt

Tailored on the platform of Indica Vista, Tata Motors is all set to release its hatch, Bolt. Recently, the manufacturer launched the Zest sedan and the sales have been quite complimenting till date.

Newly added features include the replaced Christmas tree tail lamp on the rear and a new design façade. The engines will be similar to the Zest - 1.3 litre diesel engine and 1.2 litre petrol.

The expected pricing will be Rs 400,000 - 500,000 and will release soon by the end of 2014 or early 2015.

Datsun Redi Go

Datsun is a newbie in the Indian market and this particular brand was invigorated by Japan’s Nissan.

The design of the hatchback is based on Renault’s small car platform. The Redi-Go will fit into the budget of the buyers and this will be a major heads up.

The expected pricing of this car is expected to be Rs 300,000 and it will be released somewhere in late 2015 or early 2016.

Maruti Celerio Diesel

Earlier this year, Maruti Celerio was launched with a price tag of Rs 395,000 for its Automatic Manual Transmission variant. Keeping in view the demand for Celerio, the company will launch the diesel model in the month of February, next year.

The expected price for this Celerio is believed to be in the range of Rs 400,000 - 500,000.

As of now, no concrete information on the engine has come up but it is expected to have 800cc engine with 2 cylinders. It might happen that Maruti will offer AMT with the Celerio Diesel as well.

New Ford Figo

Ford will introduce next generation Figo for the Indian market. This exquisite hatchback provides powerful features as it gets a complete makeover and will be launched as Figo+ in the Indian market as a compact sedan.

It now hosts a 1.0-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine, however, the diesel variant has received the very same engine which is of 1.4 litre capacity.

Moreover, the anticipated pricing of the car is INR 4-5 lac and is expected to launch in mid of 2015.
