The company has not yet indicated a price of the phone.
4G Mobile is introducing these handsets in collaboration with the Dubai based i-mate. The five products in the Indian market are Jasjar, K-Jam, PDA handset, JAM and SP3i.
Disclosing their marketing plans in India, Mohindroo said the 4G is aiming to capture a market share of 15 per cent of the Rs 200 crore (Rs 2 billion) mobile industry by March 2006.
The replacement handset market too is expected to grow from the current 25 per cent to 40 per cent by 2006, he said. While the company has already launched the handsets in the four metros, plans are afoot to introduce the mobiles in the sub metros as well.
"Contrary to perception our mobiles have had an excellent response from the sub-metros like Lucknow, Pune, Mangalore, etc," 4G director Seeraj Tulsi said.
The company plans to reach out to 400-500 dealers by the end of December this year and to all the 1,500 retailers in by June 2006, Tulsi said.
