P Dasgupta to head Petronet LNG

The board of Petronet LNG Ltd at its meeting on Thursday ratified Dasgupta's appointment in place of Suresh Mathur who retired on July 31.

Sources said a search committee comprising chairmen of promoter companies IOC, BPCL, ONGC and GAIL (India) Ltd had shortlisted Dasgupta as the number one candidate for the post.

GAIL director (planning and business development) B S Negi was second on the panel's recommendation.

Sources said the Petronet Board in its meeting approved the search committee's recommendation for the appointment of Dasgupta as the MD and CEO.

Prior to this, Dasgupta was director (finance) of Petronet LNG Ltd.
