Kolkata based hardware manufacturer Xenitis Infotech plans to launch its range of personal computers at an unbelievable price of Rs 9,990. The company offers 4 PCs -- Aamar, Aamchi, Aapna and Namma.
The Aamar desktop comes packed with 128 MB RAM, 30GB HDD, 15'inch colour monitor, keyboard, mouse and Linux operating system. While Aamar is among the top selling brands in eastern India, Aamchi has already grabbed a sizeable portion of the market in Maharashtra.
Xenitis will soon launch its Aapna PC in north India and Namma in the south.
"We are thrilled to offer desktops at such a low price. We have always believed in the idea of making available the latest technology to the common people. This decision is in tune with our philosophy and vision. We want everyone to take advantage of this price range. We also expect this move to considerably enhance the already increasing PC penetration.
Xenistis, which plans to go public in 2006, expects to cross the Rs 500 crore (Rs 5 billion) mark in revenues next year.
Recently, the company entered into an agreement with China based Unitek Computers to manufacture computer cases, media chips, peripherals such as keyboard, CDROM drives, CD-DVD drives, speakers and home theatres. This JV is named as Unitek Xenitis World Wide.
