Kumar has been director-general at DD since February 2004 and will assume the CEO's post on an ad-hoc basis till the appointment of a regular CEO by a three-member committee headed by vice-president Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, sources said. Kumar's deputation at the Centre ends this August.
