Indo-Pak trade: Truck terminal in Uri soon

In the run up to the beginning of trade between India and Pakistan through the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad Road, the Jammu and Kashmir government will construct a permanent truck terminal in Uri sector with all modern facilities.

"Authorities in the border township of Uri have been directed to acquire 2.5 hectares of additional land for construction of permanent truck terminal with all modern facilities," divisional commissioner Kashmir Basharat Ahmad Dar said on Thursday.

He directed the authorities of roads and buildings department to speed up the work on construction of temporary terminal to be made functional by June 1.

India and Pakistan recently decided to start trade through Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road from July 19.
