"Dhawan brings with him more than 25 rich years of experience in the financial and IT enabled services sector, having worked with Bank of America for 23 years across Asia Pacific and American markets," said Keith Budge, senior vice-president, Oracle Asia pacific.
"His deep understanding of global business will be of immense value to our more than 6,250 existing customers and our future customers in India", Budge added.
Dhawan succeeds Shekhar Dasgupta, who will leave Oracle India by the end of May 2005, to pursue a career in academics after having worked with the company for more than 12 years. During this period, Dasgupta will remain with Oracle India as an advisor to the company.
Based at Oracle India's head office in Gurgaon, Dhawan would be responsible for the company's activities in India, including long-term business development, customer care, and government and community relations.
