ONGC may soon sell LPG

December 03, 2004 12:16 IST
ONGC on Friday said it hopes to begin marketing of LPG and Kerosene soon.

"We have applied to the government for permission to sell kerosene through public distribution system and through open market.

We have also sought permission for bulk sale of LPG," ONGC chairman Subir Raha said. Presentations have been made to the government and an approval is likely soon, he said.

ONGC is not keen on marketing subsidised LPG to domestic consumers as it would involve putting up bottling facilities.

"The country already has excess bottling capacity and we do not intend to set up one on our own," he said.
