Reliance Industries may no longer be keen for an out-of-court settlement with NTPC in its ongoing dispute over supply of gas to the Kawas and Gandhar power plants.

Power Secretary RV Shahi last week informed Cabinet Secretary BK Chaturvedi that RIL had indicated that its earlier price quote was no longer valid due to the massive increase in gas prices.

Given this, the cabinet secretariat is now supporting the legal option to resolve the issue quickly. It has directed the power ministry to ask NTPC to pursue the case.
