In a novel move, India's premier bourse National Stock Exchange is launching an advertisement-based investor awareness campaign on the popular Rajdhani Express trains on select routes.
"We have tied up with Railways for spreading message of investor awareness through long-distance Rajdhani Express trains," the NSE spokesperson said.
Initially, the branding-cum-investor awareness campaign will begin in Rajdhani trains running from New Delhi to Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and Bangalore. Later, it would cover other Tier I, Tier II and Tier III cities, he said.
Exteriors of these Rajdhani coaches will be splashed with ads focusing on investor-related issues and products.
The campaign, which will start in a fortnight, will try to educate investors about dos and don'ts of investment, investor awareness, guidelines on power of attorney, NSE, the Nifty index and also other NSE products, he said.
It is a small effort by the NSE towards investor education and protection, the spokesperson said.
The NSE has already started advertising several products through the suburban trains in Mumbai, he said.
One of the ads says, 'The engine that fuels a billion dreams'. The coaches have been painted with the red, yellow and green colours of the railway signal and bear slogans, in English and Hindi, like 'soch kar, samajh kar, invest kar' (think carefully before investing).
