World's largest mobile handset seller Nokia on Wednesday announced the launch of a new mobile game deck -- N-Gage QD -- aimed at tapping the mobile gaming enthusiasts market in India.
N-Gage QD, which is also functions as a phone with GPRS connectivity, supports advanced features like personal information management, XHTML browser and e-mail, a Nokia media release said.
The device is priced at Rs 9,999 and would be available at over 3,000 Nokia retail outlets across the country.
N-Gage QD comes with a multimedia slot for instant gaming, improved gaming controls and the N-Gage Arena launcher application. It has introduced 120 Nokia Java games to build a mobile eco-system in the country.
"Nokia N-Gage QD brings the start of a whole new gaming experience to the Indian market, with an ergonomic design optimised for playing games," Gautam Advani, multimedia business director of Nokia's customer and market operations, India, said.
"The N-Gage Arena will be the place where gamers meet and create virtual communities, share their experiences, find new challenges and make friends with players with all over the world," Advani added.
The company has also launched N-Gage game cards that allow gaming enthusiasts to buy high performance games for the device.
