Nirma conducts maiden convocation

Nirma University of Science and Technology conducted its maiden convocation on Saturday.

A total of 300 students -- three doctor of philosophy, 141 MBAs, 32 MBAs with family business and entrepreneurship, 84 M-Tech and 40 PG diploma in Management were conferred with degrees and diplomas.

Former Attorney general of India Soli Sorabjee was the chief guest at the event.

Medals for scholastic performance were awarded to Saurabh Pushpa Gheesal (MBA), Charu Gemawat -- MBA (family business and entrepreneurship), Rikin Shah (PG diploma in Management) and Patel Priya (M-Tech).

Medals were given to the students securing first position in different area of specialisation.

Other guests included president Karshan Patel, vice-president N V Vasani, committee members and trustees of the Nirma Education & Research Foundation.
