Over the past week, the BSE benchmark index Sensex gained 474.79 points to end at 25,519.22
Nine of the top 10 most valued Sensex companies together added Rs 69,415.13 crore in market capitalisation last week, with RIL stealing the show by emerging as the biggest gainer.
Barring ITC, the rest nine companies, including TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, CIL, HDFC and ONGC, saw addition in their market valuation for the week ended Friday (December 18).
The m-cap of RIL surged Rs 12,892.06 crore to Rs 3,21,345.95 crore, the most among the top 10 firms.
HUL's market valuation soared by Rs 8,255.16 crore to Rs 1,85,898.14 crore, HDFC (Rs 7,947.57 crore to Rs 1,93,338.22 crore) and Sun Pharma (Rs 7,797.41 crore to Rs 1,90,230.19 crore).
The market cap of Infosys went up by Rs 7,717.74 crore to Rs 2,49,436.71 crore and that of HDFC Bank gained Rs 6,799.46 crore to Rs 2,70,666.71 crore.
ONGC's valuation jumped Rs 6,630.51 crore to Rs 1,91,001.32 crore and TCS' climbed Rs 5,753.65 crore to Rs 4,76,144.06 crore.
Similarly, CIL added Rs 5,621.57 crore to Rs 1,99,944.52 crore in its market cap.
In contrast, ITC saw an erosion of Rs 2,931.85 crore at Rs 2,54,829.45 crore in its valuation.
TCS took the top spot, followed by RIL, HDFC Bank, ITC, Infosys, CIL, HDFC, ONGC, Sun Pharma and HUL, in that order.
