National Institute of Management in Patna soon

A National Institute of Management, a business school on the lines of the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management, will be set up in Patna soon with the Bihar government approving the plan.

Bihar chief secretary K A H Subramanian said that the state government has agreed in-principle to set up the business school.

The management institute will be set up in association with the public sector Education Consultant Limited. Top state government and Ed-CIL officials took the decision at a recent meeting in Patna, sources said on Wednesday.

The academic session at the proposed NIM is likely to begin from 2006.

The Bihar government will provide 30-35 acres of land for the purpose. The setting up of the business school will cost Rs 50 crore (Rs 500 million). Besides, the institute will also need an additional Rs 40 crore (Rs 400 million) towards revenue expenditure.
