Software and training organisation NIIT Ltd has tied up with one of country's leading business school, Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta to offer 'Executive Development' programmes through virtual classrooms.

The alliance would enable the delivery of high quality management education across the country through specially designed centres of advanced learning, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday.

The MoU was signed between  chairman of NIIT Rajendra S Pawar and IIM-C director Shekhar Chaudhuri.

Under the alliance, IIM-Calcutta would design the programmes and deliver them through its experienced faculty besides conducting evaluation and certification while NIIT would provide the technology for virtual classrooms and implement and manage the overall student experience, it said.

This programme would enable working executives to undertake management education programmes while being at work, Pawar said.

The business school would offer two programmes - strategic management for senior executives and applied finance for executives in finance functions, it said.

The technology adopted by NIIT would enable both the instructor and student to interact through live video and audio media.
