Nihar to recreate crime scene for forensic lab

Nihar Info Global, which was recently listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange, has entered into a tie-up with AP Forensic Science Laboratories to develop software for crime scene visualisation, sketching and animated crime scene reconstruction.

The development will be based on CLUES team report of FSL, which will contain object-wise details of the crime scene.

Explaining the details of the tie-up, B S N Suryanarayana, the managing director of Nihar Info, said that the visual processes will be developed through 2D and 3D animation, using a template of objects besides other front end and back end tools.

"We will develop a framework consisting of ten modules in collaboration with APFSL scientists, laboratory support and infrastructure," he said. The framework is expected to take about 18 months for completion of development.

The company has also tied up with Alexander Consulting Services of US to provide software development, re-engineering of software applications and offshore software development.

It has already received a pilot project on business and occupation tax system of a US state government.

Its Dubai office has also made some progress by getting a mandate to implement an integrated hotel management application.

"We are planning to take up business process outsourcing services sometime during the next fiscal," he said.

The company is looking at insurance, financial services and back office support in the BPO segment.

It is planning to make a preferential equity offer to few institutional investors to raise Rs 75 lakh. The issue proceeds will be utilised to meet its international marketing needs.

The company's present equity is at Rs 5.28 crore (Rs 52.8 million) and post preferential offer it will increase to Rs 6.03 crore (Rs 60.3 million).

It hopes to clock a turnover of Rs 8.74 crore (Rs 87.4 million) for the current fiscal. It posted a turnover of Rs 4.52 crore (Rs 45.2 million) last year.
