Industrialists in Nasik have strongly opposed the power regualtor's proposal to have 18-32 hours of load-shedding in the industrial areas and implement five-day week to save electricity in Maharashtra.
At a meeting of the Nasik Industrial Manufacturing Association in Nasik on Wednesday, the members decided to move the court against the proposal by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission.
They
argued that if the MERC proposal is implemeted the industries will suffer heavy losses.
NIMA Vice-President Nishikant Ahire and President of Ambad Industrial Manufacturing Association Dhananjay Bele were among those who attended the meeting. Maharashtra currently faces a power shortage of over 5,500 MW with several parts of the country's most industrialised state not getting electricity up to almost 14 hours a day.
