The award was presented to the company's chairman-cum- managing director C R Pradhan by Union minister for Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath in New Delhi on Friday, the company said in a release.
Nalco had been continuously increasing its exports and foreign exchange earnings, the release said adding, it had exported 8.62 lakh tonnes of alumina and 95,747 tonnes of aluminium during 2005-06 earning a foreign exchange of Rs 2306.20 crore (Rs 23.06 billion).
During 2006-07,
Nalco's products were exported to more than 30 countries and it was the first company to be registered with London Metal Exchange and had ISO-9000-2001 and ISO-14001 certifications for all its units like mines, alumina refinery, aluminium smelter and power plant.
