MTNL bonanza for govt employees

Wooing the large pool of employees of the central and Delhi government as well PSUs along with professionals like doctors even accredited scribes, state-run MTNL has cut the one-time payment of its lifelong post-paid mobile plan by 50 per cent to Rs 400 from the existing Rs 800.

The 'Jeevan Sathi' lifelong post-paid mobile (Dolphin) connection plan for these customers would also waive off Rs 500 activation charge and Rs 1000 security deposit for STD service effectively giving the customer a benefit of Rs 900 in this scheme, A K Arora, ED, MTNL (Delhi) said in a statement.

The scheme is open till March 31 and for all other category customers, the entry fee of Rs 800 remains for Jeevan Sathi connection.  However, the activation charge of Rs 500 has been waived off till March 31 for them.

The new scheme bars migration from existing post-paid connections to it. The card - Jeevan Sathi - has a talk value of Rs 100 making the effective one time payment for the customer Rs 800.

The value of the card is Rs 900. MTNL claimed that its OneIndia scheme launched last month has found favour with 6300 landline customers and 2000 mobile customers.
