Global software major launched on Tuesday its Unified Communications software in India, which would help corporates in streamlining workplace communications and reduce cost of the average corporate voice over Internet
protocol system by half.

The Unified Communications and VoIP software includes Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, Microsoft Office Communicator, Microsoft Office Live Meeting and the service pack update of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.

software would enable employees within organisations to communicate and collaborate through emails, phone call, instant messaging and video conference in a simple and efficient manner with the use of computer, mobile phone or even a public phone.

It would offer substantial cost savings to customers as it would allow businesses to leverage existing IT and telephony infrastructure with no need to replace the current telephony infrastructure.
