"By December this year, our non-conventional energy SEZ which is spread across 27 acre land in Greater Noida is expected to be operational. Our plan is to almost double the size by next year," Moser Baer Managing Director Deepak Puri said in New Delhi on the sidelines of a Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry function in New Delhi.
The company has sought approval from authorities for an additional 25 acres for the SEZ, he said.

The company would be setting up four plants for manufacturing of photovoltaic cells based on different technologies in the SEZ, Puri also said.
"By the end of next year, all the four plants will be operational," he said, but declined to comment on the investments.
He said the company expects to start shipments from the SEZ in another five months without divulging order sizes.
Moser Baer had invested in three companies based in the US for collaboration in research and development, back-end manufacturing and partial marketing but declined to disclose the nature and size of investments.
