The optical data storage product major Moser Baer India Ltd announced on Tuesday that the European Commission has terminated the anti-dumping proceedings against the company with respect to the manufacturing of recordable compact disks or CD-R's.

"This move is expected to benefit our European customers, and strengthen our competitive position in the region," MBIL chairman Deepak Puri said in a statement.

The termination notice marks the end of the 12-month long period of uncertainty.

The EC had initiated an anti-dumping investigation into the alleged dumping of CD-R's into the European market by Indian exporters in May 2002.

MBIL happened to be the lone CD-R's exporter to Europe from India.

Puri said the favourable final conclusion of the dumping investigation, and the recent decision on the subsidy case removed the uncertainty existing within the market and MBIL's shareholders on future of exports to European Union.

Moser Baer, headquartered in New Delhi, was established in 1983 and is engaged in developing cutting edge technologies for recordable optical media.
