IT services exporter Patni Computer Systems Ltd has appointed Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor and business strategist Michael A Cusumano as an independent director on its board.
The appointment is in line with the company's endeavor to induct global expertise at board level to help shape its business strategy, growth and vision, Patni Computer Systems said.
Cusumano specialises in strategy and technology management in computer software, as well as in automobiles and consumer electronics industries.
At present, he is director of Infinium Software (ERP applications) and Investhink Ltd (financial services content and integration software), and is an advisor to NetNumina Solutions (e-business software) among others, it said.
Last year, Patni had inducted five professionals as independent directors, prior to its initial public offer.
