Micromax, Vodafone India partner to offer data card

Micromax, Vodafone India partner for offer on Canvas Knight Handset maker Micromax on Wednesday said it has partnered with telecom operator Vodafone India to offer free data usage of up to 2 GB for Canvas Knight 3G smartphone.

Vodafone's focus is to increase consumer data adoption along with Micromax's product expertise, it said in a statement.

The offer which is initially available on Canvas Knight will be extended to a wider portfolio of Micromax devices driving enriched data experience for users thus delivering a seamless experience.

Canvas Knight is available at all leading retail outlets in the country priced at Rs 19,999. Vodafone's offer is applicable for subscribers who are not active on data pack.

Offer will be activated in 48 hours on first Vodafone SIM inserted in Canvas Knight before October 31, 2014.

Boomerang Commerce raises $8.5 mn funding Boomerang Commerce, a company that provides dynamic price optimisation for online retailers, today said it has raised $8.5 million (about Rs 51 crore) funding from Trinity Ventures and Madrona Venture Group.

The company plans to use series A funds to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams to create more retail applications, it said in a statement.

The Boomerang Commerce Dynamic Price Optimiser already prices millions of products for Staples, RadioShack and other major online retailers of the world.

National Instruments launches embedded technolgy platform IT firm National Instruments on Wednesday launched a new embedded technology platform that will help sectors like healthcare and manufacturing develop products at a faster pace.

This is the company's first global product launch from India (from Chennai), introducing a major transformation in embedded technology.

"The NI System on Module (SOM) enables engineers to transform their ideas into embedded products faster than any other tool available on the market," National Instruments Emerging Markets Region Leader (Marketing) Joel Shapiro said.

Healthcare devices, smart machines and other applications that require embedded technology will benefit as the technology speeds up as well as bridges design, prototyping, and deployment with a single platform, he added.
