With Shaw Wallace & Company settling litigation with the UB Group, Kishore Chhabria, too, is expected to end his dispute with the Vijay Mallya-owned U B Group.

However, Kolkata-based legal sources close to both the groups said that right now there was no proposal of settlement. There are at least three litigations between the two pending in different courts.

Shaw Wallace, UB end legal battles, finally

One of them is before the Company Law Board, where Herbertsons Ltd filed a petition against Kishore for alleged mismanagement in BDA Breweries and Distilleries Ltd. Another case was pending in Bombay High Court relating to Kishore and his ties with Herbertsons.

A third one was pending in the Calcutta high court where, Kishore has opposed the induction of Herbertsons as a party in a suit filed by SWC regarding the ownership of BDA.

This was filed by SWC in the year 1992, challenging the authority of KRC in the management of BDA.

In this case, UB's Herbertsons alleged that as the dispute between SWC and KRC had been sorted out, both tried to grab BDA affecting the interest of Herbertsons in BDA.

Both KRC and BDA strongly opposed the petition of Herbertsons for addition of party to the 1992 suit.

The court allowed the Herbertsons plea and directed them to file affidavit in the suit.

Time will say how long those litigations between UB group and KRC will continue in view of the fact that SWC head Vidya Chhabria's effort to settle the dispute with UB's Mallya has been complete.
