Heavyweight mobike maker Royal Enfield on Friday launched a 500 cc variant of its popular cruiser bike Machismo priced at Rs 1.05 lakh (on road in Chennai).
The company would manufacture 500 units of the new Machismo annually and is targeting premium segment customers.
"The new motorcycle would meet the aspirations of the urban youth," Royal Enfield Director Anupam Thareja told reporters.
The new Machismo is powered by an engine which is similar to that being exported to the United States, Europe and Australia, he said.
The company is mulling to increase its annual manufacturing capacity to 40,000 units per annum from the present 34,000 units, Thareja said without elaborating further. -- PTI
