Walkman cellphones @ Rs 25,000!

Sony Ericsson has launched the first of its kind 'Walkman' mobile phone in a price range of Rs 25,000 to Rs 28,000.

W800i is the first Walkman branded mobile phone that enables users to listen to music, handle calls and take pictures and video as well. It is priced between Rs 25,000 and Rs 28,000.

W800i is the first product to combine a mobile phone, a Walkman-quality digital music player with up to 30 hours battery life, and a 2 megapixel camera.

The company also launched 3G mobile phones in India in the price range of Rs 25,000-Rs 36,000, apart from an entry-level camera phone for just under Rs 8,000.

Sony Ericsson launched two models of 3G handsets, one at a basic price of Rs 25,000-Rs 28,000 (K600i), while the high-end 3G phone (Z800i) would cost between Rs 35,000-Rs 36,0000.

Apart from these hot cellphones, Sony Erissson launched a triple band basic model for under Rs 4,000 (J300i) which will provide downloads of video clips, 3D gaming and will be available in Q2 of 2005.

A 3G phone offers mobile broadband, including video telephony, music and video streaming and downloads as well as Web surfing.

Focussing on the imaging segment, Sony Ericsson has introduced two camera models in the range of Rs 8,000-Rs 22,000. The mass market camera phone (K300i) will cost below Rs 8,000, while the high-end camera phone (K750i) 2 megapixel will cost Rs 20,000-Rs 22,000.
