Delhi-based businessman and director of Lord Krishna Bank Ashwini K Puri was murdered in Angolan capital Luanda on Wednesday.

Sixty-eight-year old Puri, who was also chairman of Mohan Exports India Ltd and director of Foremost Factors Ltd, was killed in a luxury hotel in Luanda by unidentified gunmen, possibly in a robbery attempt.

Puri was in Angola to set up a manufacturing unit. His body would be brought back to India on Thursday, family sources said.

He was one of the main promoters of Kochi-based Lord Krishna Bank and Honorary Counsel of Republic of Lithuania.

Puri was one of the key persons responsible for transforming the old private sector bank into a new generation technology savvy bank.
