In what appears to be a major reshuffle in the consumer electronics industry, marketing and sales heads of two multinationals - LG Electronics and National - are believed to have put in their papers.

Pradeep Tognatta, vice-president sales and marketing at LG, is believed to have cited ill health as a major reason for calling it quits, while Gurdeep Singh of National is also believed to have resigned from the Japanese major last week, industry sources said.

Tognatta and Singh's departure follows close on the heels of Ram S Ramasunder putting in his papers from the managing director's position at Electrolux Kelvinator last quarter and Philips India's Rajeev Karwal relinquishing his position as head of the consumer electronics division at the Dutch major to take Ramasunder's place.

Sources said General manager marketing Ganesh Mahalingam at LG is slated to assume Tognatta's position but nothing could be confirmed on the matter.

Neither Tognatta nor Singh were available for comments despite repeated attempts.
