HM to launch new Lancer variants

CK Birla group flagship Hindustan Motors said on Wednesday that it would launch new variants of its premium mid-size car Lancer in the next three months as the recently introduced limited edition of the vehicle has received good response.

"Though we were hoping that Lancer Exel will garner positive customer response, the actual number of walk-ins and enquiries have exceeded our expectation," its vice-president G Shyamsundar said in a statement.

Along with rolling out new versions of Lancer in three month's time, the company would also strengthen its service network in the next 15 months, he said.

The limited edition Lancer, which would be available only till December 31, 2003, has received 50 orders, the VP said.
