Kingfisher ties up with Galileo International

Kingfisher Airlines on Tuesday said it had entered into a tie-up with electronic global distribution services provider Galileo International for providing access to the latter's travel agent network.

As per the agreement, Galileo, which has access to 65 per cent of the IATA travel agent base in India and connects close to about 50,000 agents across the world, will enable Kingfisher Airlines further strengthen its width and depth of penetration, a release said.

"The travel agent plays an important role in helping the air travellers choose his airlines and with Kingfisher Airlines strong expansion plans, we are pleased to leverage Galileo's global reach and travel agents," Vijay Mallya, chairman and MD, Kingfisher Airlines said.

With the agreement, Kingfisher Airlines' fares and inventory would be available on the Galileo global distribution system platform, the release said.
