Infovista, the California-based information technology major, is expected to open its global delivery centre in the Cochin Infopark in Kerala shortly.
To begin with, Infovista will invest $200,000 to open its GDC, a state IT Mission release said in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
Kerala IT secretary Aruna Sundararajan, who led a state delegation to Middle East's biggest IT Expo -- GITEX 2003, had discussions with the Infovista promoters.
Through the Kochi office, the company would make IT enabled services to its clients in the United States, Gulf region, Europe and Australia.
Sundararajan made a presentation before the CEOs of select IT firms, highlighting Kerala's capabilities and the government's commitment to promote IT in a big way, it said.
An understanding was also reached between the Kerala government and the UAE administration to collaborate in higher education and scientific research, the release said.
Prospects of large-scale UAE investment in Kerala were also explored during the discussions Sundararajan had with UAE Higher Education Minister Sheik Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan, the release added.
