Hong-Kong based job search portal Recruit.net will invest about $3 million over the next year in India to set up a software development facility and will expand its presence in the country.

"We will invest $1.5 million to set up a software development facility-cum-sales and marketing office in Bangalore. The facility will be operational by the end of the first quarter of 2007. The rest of the amount will be used in expanding our presence in the country," Recruit.net Founder Maneck Mohan told PTI.

To tap the market in India, it has recently launched its India specific job portal Recruit.net India. The search engine will index job listings around India from multiple sources, including job recruitment sites, newspapers, companies and executive firms and enable job seekers to instantly search multiple sites.

"The Indian market is witnessing an unprecedented robustness on the job market front. The portal has been well received in its trial period here with about 200,000 jobs listing in the last one month," he said.

We have already indexed corporate pages of 400 Indian companies on our site from various sectors, which will definitely increase in near future, Mohan added.

It has partnered with US-based Direct Employees Association, which comprises about 200 leading

companies, including IBM, HP, Dell, and will give Indian jobseekers direct access to search jobs in these MNCs through our portal, he said.

The users will also be able to upload their resumes, receive job alerts via e-mail and maintain a record of their searches, Mohan added.

Prior to this, it was focusing on China, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and Singapore and operates in three languages English, Chinese and Japanese.

Recruit.net has three defined revenue channels namely AdWorks, a keyword based advertising system, which will display contextually relevant ads on the search results page.

Ads can be matched to keywords and locations and can be targeted towards individuals in specific professions, with specific skills or from specific locations. A typical advertiser on AdWorks is a business looking to attract targeted traffic to their website.

Another business channel is Sponsored Job, a way for employers to guarantee maximum exposure for their job listings.

These are displayed with their company logo and given a premium position on the search results page and Resume search, which is a paid service which allows employers to search the database for potential clients.
