Scope International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank, is planning to get its additional facility at Chennai ready by this November, a top official of the company said in Chennai on Monday.

Scope International Pvt Ltd, which presently employs 3500 people, is planning to hire around 500 people during next year while the additional facility has a seating capacity of 650, chief operating officer Sreeram Iyer said.

The company provides IT enabled services including back office processing, software development, system support, transaction processing, HR & finance services and other support services to the Standard Chartered group worldwide.

Scope, located in the heart of Chennai, has world-class facility and state-of-the-art technology and processes housed in the campus and currently services 50 countries in the group.

"The acquisition of Grindlays was a big motivator. It was a great buy, especially the big infrastructure which came along with the acquisition. In the campus, the total space is about half a million sq ft, but currently we have housed in only around 350,000 sq ft. Thus, we have so much space which is scalable or expandable to support the group's business," Iyer said.

The additional facility, being created in an area of around 50,000 sq ft, is expected to be ready by this November.
