Terming reservations in private sector as a 'new form of slavery', Shiv Sena on Thursday said it won't serve any social cause but will appease the 'politics of vote'.
"Due to such caste-based reservations, the section of society which is languishing in mud, remains in mud and even the chariot of the country's progress gets stuck in the mud," Shiv Sena said in its mouthpiece Saamna.
"One who has talent does not need crutches of reservations," the editorial said.
"Problems will not be resolved by the implementation of reservations in the private sector. On the other hand, they would increase," it said.
"May Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Babasaheb Ambedkar and Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, protect our Dalit brethren from Congress," the editorial added.
