"As part of our expansion plans, we are introducing Airbus A330-200 flights between the two cities," said Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO of the airways said.
"We aim to tap the enormous potential of Gujarat, which has of late seen a spurt in investment and tourist flow," he added. "To begin with Jet Airways will operate two flights per week and will add an additional frequency from May 1," Wolfgang said.
"As we add capacity we will evaluate to increase the frequency to provide daily flights between Ahmedabad and London," he remarked.
The Jet Airways flight will operate from Ahmedabad on Tuesdays and Wednesdays while the flight from London Heathrow will be on Tuesdays and Sundays.
As part of its inaugural offer Jet has introduced a special economy class return airfare of Rs 22,000 exclusive of taxes and valid for travel between April 3 and June 30.
There is also an added incentive in the form of a 'Companion Free Offer' for travel in premiere class, valid between April 3 and June 15. The Airbus A330-200 will have 30 seats in Premiere Class and 196 seats in the economy class.
Jet Airways will provide free chauffeur service on arrival for its premiere class passengers. This will be provided on tickets booked 24 hours prior to departure and within 50 miles from and to Heathrow Terminal.
The differential for excess mileage (for journeys in excess of 50 miles) has to be paid by the passenger.
At present Jet connects London with daily flights from Mumbai twice, one daily flight from Delhi and six times a week from Amritsar.
The airline also plans to extend its international operations to North America, Europe, Africa and Asia in the coming years with induction of wide-body aircraft into its fleet.
It also operates aircrafts to other foreign destinations like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo, Bangkok and Kathmandu.
