K P Reddy, whose removal as the director of the Institute of Rural Management was declared "null and void" by the Gujarat High Court, on Friday said he was barred from entering his office and has sought police assistance in this regard.

Reddy, who was sacked by IRMA chairman Verghese Kurien, said he was also planning to seek High Court's intervention as he was not allowed to enter the Institute.

"I entered the campus but was not (not) allowed to enter my office (the director's chamber) by the guard and was told by the guard that the chairman had said that the Institute did not recognise me as the director," Reddy said.

He said that he even approached the police and showed them the court order.

A senior official of IRMA and personal assistant to Kurien said Reddy was denied entry because his term expired on September 1 and has been relieved of his duties.

The High Court had on August 30 termed the sacking of Reddy as 'null and void'.
