"We will continue to invest in Indian IT firms, as we are getting huge returns from India and the IT market here is really booming. We are looking for investments in the area of chip design, Wimax and services space," Intel Capital president Arvind Sodhani said.
Intel Capital has announced investment funds in India and other locations across the globe and will continue to work proactively with portfolio companies to make these investments more successful, he said.
The company on Wednesday announced it has invested a part of its $250 million India Technology fund in Chennai-based IT firm Real Image Technologies. Real Image specialises in digital media technologies for film, video, audio animation industry.
However, he did not disclose the size of investment in Real Image Technologies. During Intel Chairman Craig Barret's India visit in December last year, Intel Capital had announced the India Technology fund, aimed at investing IT and software firms in the country. Intel has so far made five investments under this fund.
