National Insurance Company is going to come out with a new health policy for those above 60.
"We are awaiting Insurance Regulatory Development Authority's approval. Official clearance has to come," company Chairman and Managing Director V Ramasaamy said.
"We want to launch it on October 1 -- the World Elders' Day", he said, declining to reveal the features of the policy. He said the company would launch health insurance product for 'younger generation' below 25, as also a family floater policy in July.
The second largest general insurer in the country tied up with State Bank of Mysore to launch Dhanvantari Bima Policy,
The policy, launched by Ramasaamy and SBM Managing Director Y Vijayanand, covers the account holder and his/her family members in the age group of three months to 60 years.
The policy is available for sum insured from Rs 50,000 to Rs 300,000 with annual premiums ranging from Rs 878 to Rs 4,461, and the benefits are available for families up to four members, company officials said.
