"The government of India is contemplating scholarships for IT students of Panama at the Infosys centre in Bangalore," Fredrick Obediente, a Banco Continental official and a member of the Panama delegation told PTI.
The IT secretary was mentioning that they were interested in evaluating such a thing and should happen in the coming months, he said adding that a regional support centre for the company is being evaluated but not concrete response has been given as yet.
Banco Continental, which had recently decided to implement Finacle, the core banking solution from Infosys for their banking systems, is also willing to offer various services to Indian companies which are ready to set up base in Panama.
"We are obviously interested in working on due diligence and act as facilitators for companies looking to set up operations in Panama," Obediente said.
A total of 40 people from Infosys would be based in Panama to work with the bank officials in the development of the banking solution for the bank, he added.
