Infosys Technologies on Tuesday announced that Finacle universal banking solution has achieved the highest scalability and transactions throughput per second (TPS) of 11,180 in online mode and 19,568 TPS in batch mode.
"With this, Infosys has bettered its own previous record of 7,357 TPS for online transactions and outperformed industry's standards," Girish G Vaidya, senior vice-president and business head-Finacle, Infosys Technologies, said on Tuesday.
The new benchmark test has been reviewed by Ernst and Young, he said at a joint news conference with Abhijit Y Talwalkar, vice-president and general manager of enterprise platforms group at Intel.
Vaidya said 11,180 TPS in online transactions translated to more than 40 million transactions per hour, and 19,568 TPS in batch transactions translated to more than 70 million transactions per hour.
Finacle achieved the feat on HP superdome servers powered by Intel's Itanuim 2 processors running Oracle 9I, he added.
Vaidya is expecting the top 100 banks with large volumes of data, transactions, customers and accounts to replace their core banking solutions over the next few years.
"About 100 banks across 39 countries had installed Finacle," Merwin Fernandes, vice-president and global head, sales and marketing, banking business unit, Infosys, said.
