Software major Infosys was eyeing Tier-II cities like Tiruchirapalli and Madurai in Tamil Nadu for its expansion once the global economy recovered from the current recession, a top company official has said.
The company had already established its units in tier-II cities like Mysore, Mangalore, Kochi, Bhubaneswar and Chandigarh, Infosys CEO and Managing Director S Gopalakrishnan said in a lecture at a meeting organised by the local unit of the Confederation of Indian Industry in Tiruchirapalli.
He said he anticipated the global economic situation to improve by the end of this year and IT activities to emerge on top as before.
Infosys had not lost even a single customer during the global recession, but could have lost some revenue from certain companies, he said.
As of now, North American clients accounted for 62 per cent of its export revenues and European clientele 26 per cent, he said.
