Infocomm to link GE Money India operations

Reliance Infocomm has signed a multi-year agreement with GE Money to offer network services to the global financial major's Indian operations.

Under the agreement, Reliance Infocomm will initially network GE's 122 locations in India, enabling them to conduct business online.

The Anil Ambani-owned company will network GE's offices over a Multi-Protocol Label Switching optical fiber backbone. This will also help GE Money to expand its operations in the country, according to a Reliance Infocomm release in Mumbai on Tuesday.

According to GE Money India president and CEO Vishal Pandit, "The technology and connectivity of Reliance Infocomm Wide Area Network solution will cut down transaction time enabling us provide faster services to our customers."

At present, GE Money has a processing capability of 3.2 lakh applications per month. Use of Reliance Infocomm's network will help in improving this, stated the release.

Reliance will provide the service using its Internet Protocol - virtualPrivate Network solutions.
